Sometimes leads to forgetfulness, procrastination, insensitivity to the passage of time and missing deadlines long-ago self-imposed.

Now that you mention it, maybe I shouldn't be so concerned about the occasional lapse. You only lapsed once. But it was a mighty lapse, if ever there was one. Keep an eye out for something later today. It might even be interesting!
